DVD 735 Surge Anticipating Control Valves are designed to protect pump stations from surge conditions. Abrupt pump stopping is flowed by a pressure drop as the water column continues traveling along the line. The returning column hits the closed pump check valve, creating a high pressure surge wave, which travels at up to 4 Mach. Eliminating such surge requires anticipation and pre-action. DVD Surge Anticipating Control Valves react to the pressure drop and opens, waiting the returning column. When the returning column reaches to the valves, the valves are already open, so excessive pressure is relieved from the line. The high and low pressure limits of the valve to open/close can be easily set from the pilot of the valve. DVD Control Valves are hydraulically operated & diaphragm actuated Y pattern valves. Due to Y pattern body, they have higher kv values and lower pressure loss values compared to globe valves. They consist of a body and an actuator assembly. The actuator assembly can easily be dismantled from the body as a whole, without removing the valve from the line, and can be converted to/from single from/to double chambered actuator on site to the needs of the project. DVD Control Valves are manufactured as standard from GGG40 Ductile Iron material.
